Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Work from Home IT Operations Partner to join our dynamic and remote-first team based out of Castlereagh, Belfast. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our complex IT infrastructure and applications. You will act as a bridge between various IT teams, business units, and external vendors, ensuring operational excellence, proactive problem resolution, and continuous improvement across our global enterprise. This isn't just a troubleshooting role; it's about partnering with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and driving strategic operational initiatives from a remote setting. You will leverage your expertise in IT operations, incident management, change management, and service delivery to maintain high availability, performance, and security of our systems. Your day-to-day will involve monitoring system health, responding to alerts, coordinating major incident resolution, managing operational documentation, and participating in root cause analysis. A significant aspect of this role is also to contribute to the development and implementation of automation strategies to streamline operational processes and reduce manual intervention. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and maintain the health, performance, and availability of IT infrastructure and applications in a remote capacity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational issues, coordinating with various IT teams (e.g., development, network, security) to ensure timely resolution.
  • Lead and manage major incident response, ensuring clear communication, effective troubleshooting, and rapid service restoration.
  • Implement and adhere to ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management within a remote work framework.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures accessible to a distributed team.
  • Identify opportunities for operational automation and contribute to the development and deployment of scripts and tools.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews (PIRs) and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments and application updates.
  • Manage and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) for key services.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in IT operations, particularly those relevant to remote environments and cloud platforms.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure Management, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience with ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking, virtualisation).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native operational models.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Solid understanding of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for a remote collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively from a home office setting.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification (or higher).
