As a way to help bridge the gap between military and civilian life, we are looking to hire Veteran candidates who worked as Medics or Medical Assistants in the Military (Will be verified by DD214). Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.</li> <li>As required and competency validated, performs appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing and other requested procedures.</li> <li>Prepares and stocks rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visits as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.</li> <li>Prepares for and assists with routine and specialty procedures.</li> <li>Schedules patients for follow up appointments or referrals and performs routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying, scanning and faxing.</li> <li>Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up.</li> <li>Responds to emergency situations.</li> <li>Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.<br> </li> </ul><br><p><b>Certification/Skills:</b></p> <ul> <li>Use and care of standard clinic equipment.</li> <li>BCLS - Basic Life Support Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association required.</li> <li>Military Occupational Specialty Training (MOS) completion certificate/DD214 of approved medical program required.<br> </li> </ul> <p><b>Minimum Education:</b></p> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a Military Occupational Specialty Training (MOS) required.<br> </p> <p><b>Minimum Experience:</b></p> <p>1 year of service as a Medic/Medical Assistant while in the Military as documented on the DD214 required.<br> </p> <p><b>Physical Requirements:</b></p> <p>Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. </p> <p><b>Security Sensitive:</b></p> <p>This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215</p> <p><b>Residency Requirement:</b></p> <p>Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.</p>
