<strong>What’s The Role<br><br></strong>As a Terminal Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the Long Island, NY Terminal. Terminal Operators are needed 24/7/365 and shifts are selected on a plant seniority basis. It is important to note that new hires are required to successfully complete the Structured Operator Training program, which is designed to be completed within one year of the start date. During this extensive training, the candidate must be able to comprehend and retain the information presented.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Be Doing<br><br></strong><ul><li>Facilitate the safe movement, receipt, and shipment of product between pipelines, tanker trucks, ships, barges, and storage tanks by strictly following policies and procedures and ensuring proper system line-up</li><li>Ensure that product transactions are properly measured, accurately documented, and conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures</li><li>Ensure that tanks are properly gauged by physically climbing the tanks and reading a gauge tape and plumb bob accurately down to 1/16th of an inch</li><li>Use basic analytical test equipment and follow procedures for performing and documenting product quality assurance testing</li><li>Assist in the maintenance and repair of metering devices, pumps, valves, and related equipment, and perform meter calibration</li><li>Perform and document transport truck and routine terminal inspections</li><li>Stock balancing and reporting</li><li>Issue work permits and oversees contract workers</li><li>Minor Terminal hardware & maintenance purchasing in accordance with company procedures</li><li>Perform terminal “housekeeping” and light labor duties including snow and litter clearing</li><li>Take receipt of railcars into storage tanks</li><li>Ensure safe handling of fuels while loading onto marine vessels<br><br></li></ul><strong>What We Need From You<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis</li><li>without the requirement of a work visa</li><li>Must be at least 18 years old</li><li>Must submit to all background, medical and reference checks, including hair drug testing</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers</li><li>Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime and on-call shifts as the Long Island Terminal is REQUIRED to be manned 24/7/365</li><li>Must reside within 60 minutes of the facility, or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes without assistance</li><li>Must be willing to support and abide by the Company's safety policies</li><li>Must be willing to work outside in inclement weather with or without reasonable accommodation</li><li>Must be willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodation</li><li>Must be willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without reasonable accommodation<br><br></li></ul>***Please note that there is an Online Assessment which is required for this position. Please review your Workday tasks, directions and instructions to ensure you complete the required test within the provided timeframe***<br><br><strong>What We Offer<br><br></strong>The rate for this position is $30.51 – $41.93. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.<br><br>For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.<br><br>Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
