We are looking for someone who will help develop and apply analytical methods to single cell sequencing, whole genome sequencing, and clinical data produced by large scale research efforts in our lab and through our collaborations across MSK.
A successful candidate would exploit state of the art analysis methods, develop new methods and analyses, implement data quality control procedures and train junior bioinformatics in those procedures. Additionally, the candidate would work with external collaborators and researchers within our group, gathering requirements for new research questions and providing interpretation of results produced by production pipelines and bespoke analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop software to advance our pioneering work in single-cell genomics.
• Analyze sequencing datasets to address novel and clinically relevant questions.
• Critique results and troubleshoot issues with new analyses.
• Research new developments in computational biology and bioinformatics to apply to new datasets.
• Collaborate with researchers to tackle innovative questions in cancer genomics.
• Train junior analysts on running pipelines and performing routine analyses and quality control.

Key Qualifications:
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Computer Science with a focus on molecular biology, or equivalent non-academic experience.
• Experience with Linux and proficiency in Python or R.
• Familiarity with high-throughput sequence data is preferred.
