<h2><b>Employment Type:</b></h2>Full time<h2><b>Shift:</b></h2>12 Hour Day Shift<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><b>Description:</b></h1><p>Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team on our Labor & Delivery unit!</p><div><div><div><div><p></p><p><b>Shift:</b></p><p><span>Part-time, 24hrs/wk, day Shift (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) / Every other weekend and rotating holidays!</span></p><p><br /><b>Overview:</b></p><p>Serving Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Labor and Delivery floor at Saint Francis Hospital is a 9-bed unit.  We care for various types of patients including but not limited to high-risk pregnancies and complications i.e. Gestational DM, HTN, PTL, multiple births. All Registered Nurses are educated to scrub and circulate for C-sections along with phlebotomy and IV start skills. Additionally, we have 24/7 anesthesia and OB availability. We have ongoing evidence-based initiatives instituted i.e. preterm labor assessment tool, prevention of primary C-Sections, severe HTN in pregnancy.</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities include:</b></p><ul><li><p>Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.</p></li><li><p>Performs a comprehensive assessment of the neonate.</p></li><li><p>Displays an understanding of normal newborn transitional care including thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, and respiratory status.</p></li><li><p>Plans and delivers care to the newborn with complications.</p></li><li><p>Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.</p></li><li><p>Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient needs identified.</p></li><li><p>Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.</p></li><li><p>Discusses with and includes parents about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.</p></li><li><p>Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.</p></li><li><p>Instructs parents in follow-up care/activities in preparation for <span><span><span><span><span><span>transfer/discharge. </span></span></span></span></span></span> Evaluates the parents understanding of instructions.  Gives written instructions and materials to parents.  Documents understanding of instructions.</p></li><li><p>Charts precise and specific observation via Focus Charting on Flow Sheets.</p></li><li><p>Receives and gives a knowledgeable and concise patient report to others, as necessary to demonstrate awareness of patient’s overall conditions.</p></li><li><p>Initiates Clinical Pathways/Plan of care on appropriate patient population on admission.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred; Active RN License in the state of Delaware</p></li><li><p>Must have at least 1-2 years' experience working in Labor & Delivery</p></li><li><p>BLS and NRP required</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including:</b></p><ul><li><p>Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage</p></li><li><p>Retirement Savings Program</p></li><li><p>Paid Time Off</p></li><li><p>Tuition Reimbursement</p></li><li><p>Free Parking</p></li><li><p>And more!</p></li></ul></div></div></div></div><p></p><p><b>Our Commitment </b></p><p></p><p><span>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
