Maine Wood Concepts is seeking a motivated Purchasing Specialist to support procurement and purchasing activities for our three divisions – Lutz File & Tool, Fletcher’s Mill, and Maine Wood Concepts. This role ensures a steady flow of high‑quality materials, components, and supplies that keep our manufacturing operations running without interruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full purchasing cycle for materials, tooling, components, and production supplies
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure reliable quality, minimal lead times, and cost‑effective pricing
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and conditions for purchases and service agreements
  • Enforce purchasing policies with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring alignment with production schedules and preventing machine downtime
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies, local, and federal regulations
  • Support Lean initiatives with suppliers, including KANBAN, JIT, and inventory‑flow improvements
  • Manage inventory levels and track orders for timely delivery, often working with logistics
  • Provide complete documentation on all purchase requests, including pricing history, lead times, competitive bids, and inventory projections
  • Perform additional purchasing duties and special projects as needed
