Project Manager - Specialist Engineering Projects

Location: Blackbushe area, Hampshire

Contract: Permanent

A leading manufacturer of advanced instrumentation and sensing systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of bespoke engineering projects from concept through to completion. This is a key role within a highly collaborative projects team, managing complex developments that combine hardware, firmware, and software solutions for clients across technically demanding sectors.

The Role

Plan, resource, and manage multiple engineering projects to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to specification.

Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation, identifying key milestones and deliverables.

Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and proactive risk management.

Control budgets and timelines, identifying variations and implementing recovery actions when needed.

Produce and maintain accurate project documentation including specifications, test plans, procedures, and reports.

Lead project reviews and ensure compliance with internal quality and customer standards.

Support customer engagement throughout the project lifecycle, from proposal to delivery and post-installation support.

About You

Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects within an engineering, manufacturing, or technology environment.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of seniority.

Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.

Customer-focused and results-driven, able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Security clearance eligibility (UK passport holder with 5+ years' UK residency).

Desirable: Professional certification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent. Experience delivering defence or government projects would be beneficial but not essential.
