Functions as a TVA Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NERC Standards. Ensures all required reviews and assessments are conducted to assure reliability and compliance with NERC standards. Develops and executes improvement initiatives , updates, tracks, and provides senior level management with briefings and updates on issues that may affect reliability and compliance. Es tablishes programmatic controls for NERC Reliability. D evelops and implements strategic activities, policies, and coordinating initiatives for continuous regulatory compliance.<br><br><strong>Job Dimensions<br><br></strong><strong> Supervisory Responsibility </strong> — None<br><br><strong> Budget Responsibility </strong> — None<br><br><strong>Principal Accountabilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Maintains expert knowledge of NERC Reliability and industry best practices for compliance. </li><li> Ensures all required reviews, assessments, and audits are conducted accurately to assure reliability and compliance with NERC Standards. </li><li> Develops and ensures operations Standard Processes and Procedures (SPPs) align with Federal Standards and TVA policy. </li><li> Develops and provides SME interpretation of industry standards, regulations, and policies in alignment with other TVA organizations. </li><li> Defines and develops procedures and remediation plans. </li><li> Implements industry standard acceptable practices for establishment, design, operation, maintenance, and modification to ensure TVA compliance to NERC standards. </li><li> Reviews design change notices, maintenance procedures, and other inputs as needed to ensure NERC compliance standards are addressed. </li><li> Develops detailed project scope, objectives, schedules, and funding requests to ensure TVA NERC regulatory compliance. </li><li> Performs in lead role in development of reliability program conceptual framework, protection strategies, system testing, and evaluations. </li><li> Analyzes reliability program risks and problems to determine causes and implements mitigation and corrective actions in accordance with applicable SPPs and industry best practices for corrective actions. </li><li> Participates in industry committees for regulatory issues, research, and technical standards. </li><li> Coordinates with internal groups and TVA SMEs for engineering guidance and concurrence on issues and process changes affecting NERC compliance. </li><li> Performs potential non-compliance evaluations and develops mitigating and corrective actions. </li><li> Coordinates efforts within Power Operations and is liaison with other outside organizations regarding implementation of new NERC standards. </li><li> Provides these and other required services as business needs dictate. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Requirements<br><br></strong><strong> Education </strong> . B.S. degree in Engineering (Preferably Electrical).<br><br><strong> Experience </strong> .<br><br><ul><li> Greater than 8 years of demonstrated work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of plant/Industrial facility experience, or engineering experience in design, modification, maintenance, set-up, and testing of plant systems. </li><li> Demonstrated expertise in analysis and resolution of engineering problems, mitigation, and compensating measures. </li><li> Demonstrated positive team work and leadership ability. Proven oral/written communications and problem solving skills. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Certification/License, Etc The Following Are Desirable<br><br></strong><ul><li> Professional engineering license, or other Industry recognized EE certification related to NERC Reliability Standards. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Expert knowledge of NERC Reliability standards, engineering principles, strategies, and enterprise-wide system management tools . </li><li> Must possess the ability to communicate principles, concepts, and practices effectively, interpret broad policy matters, apply technical industry standards and regulatory guidance to a range of issues. </li><li> Demonstrated ability to identify, organize, analyze, solve complex programmatic problems and develop effective solutions that may be replicated to other assets and facilities. </li><li> Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and oral, written communication skills are essential. </li><li> Required to obtain and maintain security clearance. </li><li> Demonstrated ability to perform work in an operating generation facility required. <br><br></li></ul><strong>How To Claim Vet Preference<br><br></strong>If you are requesting to be considered as a preference-eligible veteran as outlined in the application process, you must submit your military documents before the posting close date indicated above.
