NOTE:  This position is located at Nordstrom's downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week.

 As a Production Planner for Nordstrom Product Group (NPG), you will facilitate production management for private label from order commitment through in store.  You will maintain updated process documents tied to Order Writing, Order Validation, PO Management, and Work in Progress.  The ideal candidate will be motivated, with strong time management skills, detail-oriented accuracy, and curiosity to identify efficiencies and problem-solving. The individual will engage with external suppliers overseas and internal partners of merchandisers, product managers, and product developers, merch analysts and multiple supply chain teams to support on time delivery and quality customer service to internal and external teams. 

 

A day in the life… 

  • Manage issuing and maintaining purchase order data from commitment to shipment, ensuring PO accurately reflects multiple business channel requirements. Research and adjust purchase orders to meet business needs 
  • Monitors Work in Progress (WIP) activities from order placement to shipment. Manage calendar milestones for the category supported 
  • Manage internal and external change requests for purchase orders, providing guidance and solutions to maintain delivery 
  • Track final garments for on-time delivery, manage exceptions and issue resolution 
  • Management of ongoing styles including repetitive commitment of units to Suppliers over multiple deliveries   
  • Partner with compliance and/or transportation to ensure manufacturer adheres to corporate compliance policy. Partner with accounts payable to research and reconcile purchase order and invoice cost discrepancies 
  • Building and nurturing relationships with suppliers through both verbal and written communications 
  • Maintain external on-boarding documents for existing and new suppliers  

  

You own this if you have… 

  • BS or BA degree, or equivalent work experience in related field 
  • 1+ year of experience in high-volume retail purchase order management 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet (primarily excel navigation, formulas, and pivot tables)   
  • Knowledge of Oracle or SAP system (preferred) 
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Washington: $69,000 - $110,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
