HHS plays an essential role in building a healthy and strong community.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR</strong><br>The Fiscal Team in the Department of Health and Human Services is currently recruiting for a professional and detail-oriented Program Specialist II to support key operational functions. This full-time position plays an important role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Medical Billing Unit and broader fiscal operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting electronic medical billing systems, managing HHS Gift Cards, and coordinating Non-Local Travel in compliance with County policies. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Access), and a commitment to public service. If you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep programs running efficiently and accurately, we welcome you to apply and join our dedicated Fiscal Team.</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" data-pasted="true"><li>This position provides essential support to the Medical Billing Unit within the Fiscal Team, helping ensure accurate billing, system functionality, and compliance with federal and state requirements.</li><li>The role also manages key administrative functions such as HHS Gift Cards and Non-Local Travel, Assist with or serve as backup for the Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) program.</li><li>Maintain and update Title XIX participant eligibility lists in accordance with federal and state requirements, contributing to the department’s ability to deliver timely and effective services to the community.</li></ul><p data-pasted="true"><br></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong> Two (2) years of professional experience providing administrative or technical support to a medical billing or health care related program.</p><p><strong>Education:</strong> Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.</p><p><strong>Equivalency</strong>: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" data-pasted="true"><li>Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) using Microsoft Excel and Access to manage, analyze, and report program-related data. Preference for candidates who can provide examples of using these tools to support operational or administrative functions.</li><li>Experience supporting medical billing operations or similar program functions in a healthcare or public service setting. Includes assisting with claim resolution, system troubleshooting, or user support</li><li>Experience managing program-related resources such as gift cards, including tracking, reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.</li><li>Experience coordinating Non-Local Travel logistics, including processing requests, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to County or agency travel policies.</li><li>Strong organizational and analytical skills demonstrated through examples of improving processes, solving problems, or supporting program compliance and reporting.</li></ul>
