The Executive Steward role at Four Seasons New York is a crucial leadership position within the Stewarding Department. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000, reflecting the importance of the position and the high standards of the hotel. The Executive Steward is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Stewarding Department, ensuring that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with the hotel's quality and safety standards. This includes managing the proper use and routine maintenance of all stewarding machinery and equipment, maintaining inventory controls, and planning budgets related to purchasing china, glassware, and silverware for the entire Food & Beverage division. Additionally, the Executive Steward plays a vital role in staff management. This includes recruiting, training, scheduling, disciplining, and supervising stewarding team members. The role requires prior knowledge of kitchen and floor cleaning equipment and extensive experience in stewarding management, preferably in settings such as banquets, restaurants, or hotel kitchens. The Executive Steward must ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation throughout kitchen and back-of-house areas, enforce hygiene protocols, and oversee the proper handling and disposal of waste. This position demands flexibility and a proactive approach, as the Executive Steward may support other Food & Beverage outlets as needed.
