Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives and Managers to identify customer requirements then develop strategic, cost-effective proposals for Spectrum solutions
  • Design and present complex network solutions for voice and data applications, including technical specifications and topologies tailored to client needs
  • Conduct site surveys, provide technical sales support and deliver post-sale documentation to ensure seamless installation, integration and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Finance to assist with solution pricing and secure necessary approvals aligning proposals with business objectives
  • Deliver technical training to sales and support teams to enhance product knowledge and awareness of industry trends

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent training, education and experience preferably with concentration in Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ year of sales engineering and networking experience in the telecom or service provider industry
  • Foundational understanding of designing and implementing small to medium WAN solutions using current and legacy network technologies such as SD-WAN and Ethernet
  • Working knowledge of corporate data security methods and systems including Firewalls, VPNs and DNS
  • Foundational voice networking experience with emphasis on Unified Communications hosted and premises-based solutions and voice signaling protocols including SIP and VoIP
  • General knowledge of networking technologies including VPN, TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, Ethernet, DWDM and CWDM
  • Experience with routing, switching and security protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP, CoS/QoS and emerging technologies
  • Ability to multitask and partner with assigned Sales Managers to drive sales results and enhance customer experience
  • Ability to work closely with sales executives and understand the sales cycle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Foundational sales skills in presentation and proposal design
  • Proficient in MS Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Consultative approach to solutions and design with strong knowledge of converged multimedia applications
  • Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record and auto insurance coverag

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent in related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, Value Added Reseller, network administration or other relevant roles in a telecom environment
  • Foundational certifications in data networking, wide area networks, voice communications, security such as ISC, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or Juniper
  • Proficient in presenting service designs in clear terms that highlight outcomes and benefits
