Job Overview
The Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation is seeking a Director of Training + Technical Assistance to lead the Beeck Center’s expanding Training + Technical Assistance (TTA) offering. The Director will develop the signature TTA offerings and oversee the implementation across program areas, establishing strategic direction, operational systems, and content infrastructure that will define how the Beeck Center builds capacity in the public sector. This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic design, systems thinking, and program execution, with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, learning design, and program impact assessment. The Director will be responsible for translating field insights into scalable learning experiences, establishing frameworks for technical assistance delivery, and defining the distinctive approach and methods that position Beeck as a leader in government capacity building.
The Beeck Center operates as a distributed team, with some team members working remotely and others working in-person in our Washington, DC offices. A distributed team means there will be heavy reliance on asynchronous communication channels such as Slack, Asana, and Gmail while also having many meetings fully virtual or hybrid to include remote employees, using Zoom.
The Beeck Center’s TTA offering focuses on building the capacity of digital + data-focused public service professionals, offering a range of options from drop-in sessions to high-touch, bespoke solutions. As a trusted leader in the field, the Beeck Center occupies a unique, cross-cutting position that enables us to identify needs, explore solutions, and deliver training and technical assistance in both proactive and responsive ways.
Work Interactions
The Director directly reports to the Beeck Center’s Executive Director. The Director collaborates with other members of the Leadership Team, Innovation + Incubation Fellows, and staff across the organization. The Director may directly manage a staff team, student analysts, and contractors as needed. The TTA team works extensively across the Beeck Center. The Director will represent the Beeck Center and Georgetown University when speaking publicly, including at conferences, with funders, and in media engagements.
The Beeck Center has two office spaces in Washington, D.C.: one on Georgetown University’s Main Campus and a second downtown on Georgetown’s Capitol Campus. We prioritize spending time in person with our student analysts for collaboration and career development as well as building relations across the various other centers on campus. Remote employees will have the opportunity to and are expected to travel up to 10% for team retreats, conferences and in-person work weeks.
