Job Description:

 

L3Harris Communications & Spectrum Dominance segment is seeking a Director of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence. The successful candidate will drive process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and lean proficiencies across the organization.

This role involves evaluating current processes and practices across multiple locations, identifying areas for improvement, collaborating with team members on implementations, and monitoring outcomes to ensure sustainable success. It supports Corporate Best Practices for Operational Excellence, e3, and LHX excellence, providing an accounting of achievements.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies rooted in Lean, Six Sigma, or other best practices.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process changes are effectively integrated and sustained.
  • Conduct workshops, support best practices through evaluation and action, and provide training sessions to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and support actions required to report on improvement initiatives and their impact on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support and drive root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address process failures.
  • Stay informed about industry’s best practices and emerging trends in process improvement.
  • Ability to travel 30-50%

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Green Belt/Black Belt or other Lean-Six Sigma certification

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience of interacting with multi-functional groups and developing executive-level reports.
  • Experience in leading corrective actions using disciplined problem-solving methods and statistical analysis.
  • Experience acting as a change agent, ensuring successful implementation of innovations and developments.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills across all levels, with the ability to collaborate, motivate, and manage a team.
  • Adopts a strategic, proactive approach to support business leaders in identifying and resolving manufacturing issues.#SM-1

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $131,500 – $244,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
