Atlassian Technical Consultant
Below are the key responsibilities that the Atlassian Technical Consultant will focus on. However, the role will not be limited to these on an ongoing basis:
Our Atlassian Technical Consultant works closely with enterprise customers to unlock the full potential of the Atlassian product suite. As part of a high-performing delivery team, you will design, implement, and optimize solutions that enhance collaboration, productivity, and operational efficiency.
In this role, you’ll guide customers in deploying and integrating Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management across both Data Center and Cloud environments, including leading migrations from Data Center to Cloud.
You will also play a key role in pre-sales activities—developing solution proposals, producing estimates and statements of work, and shaping delivery approaches that align with client objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with business and technical stakeholders, leading discovery, requirements gathering, research, and solution workshops.
  • Design and implement Jira, Confluence, and JSM configurations (workflows, permissions, custom fields, SLAs, knowledge bases, service portals).
  • Strong understanding of the broader Atlassian ecosystem and how integrated capabilities work together, including Atlassian Org Administration, Atlassian Guard, Assets, Plans, Analytics and related platform features.
  • Lead and execute end‑to‑end Atlassian migrations and consolidations from Data Center to Cloud, including planning, environment prep, testing, cutover, and post‑migration stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain automations using native automation and ScriptRunner, plus integrations using Python and Atlassian REST APIs.
  • Advise on and implement AI‑enabled improvements (e.g., knowledge management, support workflows, or AI tools such as Rovo or related assistants) to enhance productivity and user experience.
  • Assess, recommend, and configure Marketplace apps within Atlassian Cloud and Data Center constraints.
  • Support pre-sales activities through solution design input, scope definition, assumptions, and high-level estimates.
  • Provide best‑practice guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams and customers.
Qualifications
  • Education: Post-secondary / University degree in Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands‑on Atlassian administration and consulting with Jira, Confluence, and JSM in mid‑to‑large environments.
  • Proven experience with both Data Center and Cloud, including at least one significant Jira/Confluence/JSM migration from Data Center (or Server) to Cloud.
  • Strong customer‑facing communication skills, able to translate business needs into technical solutions and present recommendations to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, own deliverables end‑to‑end, and presenting solutions to customers
  • Advanced automation and scripting skills using ScriptRunner (or similar) and Atlassian automation, plus practical experience with Python and Atlassian REST APIs.
  • Experience applying AI tools in consulting or delivery work (inside or outside Atlassian), such as AI‑driven knowledge, support, or workflow optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Atlassian certifications (Cloud-focused preferred).
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS and Azure.
  • Experience in building custom solutions with Atlassian Forge.
  • Strong written and spoken English language skills.
