The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity available in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Operations Argon team for an Associate Level Manufacturing Assembler in our Smithfield, PA and/or Lamont Furnace, PA facility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations
  • Exhibits a strong commitment to growth, development and professionalism to drive learning and development for continuous improvement within the manufacturing team
  • Work independently to develop, modify, and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement correction action and/or preventive action
  • Engages in ongoing learning to build and maintain necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities


Knowledge:
  • Has substantial and thorough understanding of the job.


Problem Solving:
  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established practices and procedures.


Discretion:
  • Receives general supervision with basic instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new lines of work or special assignments
  • Performs routine or standardized work, choosing from a variety of well-established options. Work is reviewed for soundness and overall adequacy and accuracy


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Candidate must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • 1 + years' experience reading, understanding, engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment where compliance is critical
  • Experience with fabrication and/or assembly of mechanical or electrical systems utilizing production industry standards.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1 + year of experience working with specialized tools (e.g., electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, accessing computer files, multimeters)
  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, and engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data)
  • Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and reproducibility requirements are met
  • Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School Diploma/GED).

Salary Range: $46,740 - $63,250
