In this role you will have oversight over the Absence Paid Family & Medical Leave claims team. Your day will involve overseeing your teams daily operations, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring timely, accurate processing of claims. You will also work closely with other business areas as PFML state laws are updated or change. You'll spend time collaborating with other departments to resolve complex issues, while also driving continuous process improvements and keeping the team aligned with evolving compliance standards.

  • Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 plus annual bonus opportunity

What you'll do
  • Lead and manage the Absence Claims department, overseeing staffing, performance, and compliance with policies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance processes, ensuring timely and accurate claims handling.
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and other departments to resolve service delivery, system, and quality issues.
  • Stay current on federal and state legislation affecting claims processing, ensuring compliance and procedural integrity.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, eliminating waste and enhancing efficiency.
  • Represent the Claims department as a subject matter expert, handling escalated issues and legal matters.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to establish effective training programs and develop leadership skills.
What you'll bring
  • 5+ years of disability or absence claims leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and guide your team in a dynamic service environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, adapting quickly to new challenges, new state laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and the ability to think creatively, breaking through existing barriers, methods, and practices.
  • Ability to travel: 25%

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
